PCSOs assisted with enquiries into a collection of allotment break ins. They have also provided the allotment association with signage and crime prevention advice. Neighbourhood officers engaged in a pursuit with a vehicle that failed to stop in the area. The driver finally gave up and fled from the vehicle in the Esh Winning area, however was swiftly arrested at scene. He was remanded into custody for dangerous driving, driving whilst under the influence and multiple other driving offences. Multiple patrols have been conducted in and around the Town Centre by PCs and PCSOs. They have attended a variety of incidents in this area, including an assault and incidents of anti social behaviour. Your Neighbourhood team, alongside the Force's bike section (Durham Roads & Armed Policing), took part in an Operation Endurance on Friday. Multiple traffic stops were conducted and drivers were reported for a variety of offences. One prolific shoplifter from the Northumbria area was spotted in our area on Saturday. They were quickly arrested, whilst in possession of a trolley load of goods! All property was able to be returned to its correct store. They were charged with three shoplifting offences and remanded into custody. PCSOs have conducted multiple crime enquiries into vehicle crime and shoplifting offences, as well as incidents of anti social behaviour. Following incidents of anti social behaviour in the Town Centre area, PCSOs have spoken to the parents of seven youths in relation to their behaviour. One youth was taken home by officers, and all are being dealt with by ourselves and Durham County Council. Enquiries are ongoing to identify more youths involved in these incidents, assisted by Durham County Council Neighbourhood Wardens - North.
